Edge Platform and Products tools team designs and develops automation frameworks, efficiency improvement tools and complex automation libraries using Python for teams working on Akamai Delivery, Origin Services and Edge Computing products. We develop automation infrastructure for product testing and collaborate with the rest of the Engineering teams.

Ensure world class Delivery performance

You will be tasked with solving critical software automation and verification problems in a distributed systems environment. Working with developers and QA teams you will become an expert in system-wide automation infrastructure. You will ensure the exceptional performance of the products used to deliver the world's largest OTT events.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Designing, developing and enhancing the automation frameworks used by the Product testing and development teams
• Collaborating closely with Product stakeholders in creating the automation infrastructure to replicate real world scenarios
• Reviewing product & system design requirements to come up with efficient automation frameworks or libraries
• Evangelising the automation frameworks and tools across Akamai

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience. Bachelors degree/1 year of relevant experience with Master degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Have demonstrated experience in developing test automation and full stack applications in Python, Golang, JavaScript. Have exposure to Container technologies like Dockers and Kubernetes.
• Have experience with Django, Celery, Redis, MongoDB, Postgres, Grafana/InfluxDB, Flask, Apache spark, Jenkins, Selenium, Appium etc.
• Experience using GIT and/or Perforce for version control. Enjoy working as a team, collaborating and solving problems with others
• Be passionate about solving large scale distributed systems problems using Data Structures and complex Algorithms
• Have exposure or interest in working with internet technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.
